Capacity by Gate
Gate 1 and Gate 2 projects have signed, countersigned connection agreements. “Pending Designation” projects have not yet been countersigned — the Gate field is blank until countersigning, per NESO's register documentation.
Queue breakdown
Active queue only (excludes Built projects). MW figures are the capacity for each stage (the “MW Increase / Decrease” field); projects with multiple stages contribute to their respective totals independently.

About this data
Data source
NESO Transmission Entry Capacity (TEC) Register, accessed via the NESO Data Portal CKAN API. The register lists every project with or seeking a transmission connection agreement in Great Britain.
Staged projects and MW totals
Multi-stage projects appear as multiple rows sharing the same base project number (e.g. PRO-001234-1, PRO-001234-2). MW figures use the MW Increase/Decrease field — the capacity for each stage. NESO note: “Capacity across stages and technology types is currently presented in aggregate, which may result in duplicate entries.”
Gate column
The Gate field was added to the register on 21 November 2025. It indicates Gate 1 or Gate 2 (part of NESO's Connections Reform programme, per CUSC paragraphs 6.30.3.2 and 6.35.2). The field is only populated once an agreement is countersigned — blank values are normal and indicate the agreement has not yet been countersigned, shown here as “Pending Designation.”
Project identifiers
Project Number (PRO-XXXXXX) is the current primary identifier per NESO. Project ID (a legacy Salesforce field) is stored for reference — NESO confirmed in 2025 register documentation that Project IDs are being phased out in favour of Project Numbers.
