NESO's Demand Flexibility Service procures voluntary load reduction from aggregators, suppliers, and large consumers during periods of system stress. Providers commit to deliver a specified MWh volume when called.
NESO issues a Service Requirement announcing a turn-down (reduce consumption) or turn-up window. Providers submit bids. NESO accepts bids in merit order until the requirement is met.
Accepted bids are settled at their offered price (pay-as-bid) or the marginal clearing price. The VWAP shown here is the volume-weighted average of accepted bid prices across settled events.
All prices display in £/MWh. NESO source data may express prices in other units (p/kWh etc.) — Gridview normalises these and stores the verbatim original unit for auditability. Volumes are in MWh.
